A practical way to deliver exposure therapy in clinic
Delivering exposure therapy can mean finding real-world triggers, arranging locations, and hoping conditions are right on the day.
Rephobia brings controlled intensity and repeatable environments into the room, with the clinician guiding the session throughout.
Bring controlled exposure into your clinic
A service-ready workflow for practices that want to reduce reliance on difficult-to-arrange real-world triggers.

Fit it into an exposure plan
Select the target scenario, adjust intensity during the session, and guide each patient through repeatable exposure steps in a controlled setting.
Reduce real-world logistics
Use structured environments when in-vivo exposure would be difficult, time-consuming, expensive, or inconsistent to arrange.
Keep the clinician in control
Rephobia is designed for supervised delivery, with the therapist present throughout and clinical judgement guiding the pace of exposure.
Guide exposure at the patient's pace
Use controlled scenarios and adjustable intensity as part of a therapist-led exposure plan.
Set the starting point
Choose a scenario and a manageable intensity that fits the treatment plan and the patient's needs.
Guide the exposure
Adjust intensity as the session progresses, pause when needed, and repeat conditions consistently from one appointment to the next.
Review and plan
Debrief together and use the session to inform the next step in therapist-led, exposure-based care.

Frequently asked questions
For clinicians, partners, and people exploring the technology.
Who is Rephobia for?
Rephobia is designed for therapists and clinics delivering exposure-based treatment for specific phobias. It supports supervised sessions where controlled, repeatable exposure is useful and real-world triggers are impractical to arrange.
Is it self-guided or therapist-led?
Therapist-led. Rephobia is designed for use with a qualified clinician present throughout the session, guiding the exposure and adjusting intensity.
Can I try it without a VR headset?
Yes. The 360 demo runs in a standard browser on a phone, laptop, or compatible headset. It is a demonstration of the experience rather than a replacement for clinical care.
What phobias are supported?
Rephobia is starting with fear of heights and is developing a broader library of therapist-led environments. Tell us about your clinical use case so it can inform the roadmap.
What hardware is required in a clinic?
The interactive platform is designed for modern standalone VR headsets. We can discuss headset options, room setup, cleaning, and workflow during a demo.
How do you approach safety and suitability?
Rephobia is intended to sit within appropriate clinical screening and risk management. Suitability and treatment decisions remain with the treating professional.
What stage is the project at?
The team is refining the therapist workflow with clinical and academic input. The Queen's University Belfast work was a mechanism and feasibility pilot, not evidence of a clinical outcome claim.
How can I get involved?
Try the browser-based 360 demo, request a walkthrough, or send a message if you are a clinician, researcher, service provider, funder, or journalist.
